In this study, Szent-Gyorgyi and Isenberg used electron paramagnetic resonance techniques to examine the nature of charge-transfer in adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP), and ask what it might say about ATP's role in cell metabolism.
